Joe Wrafter – Golf Course Manager
It’s always a great way to start your day at Broadacres Golf Course with a courteous and professional reception when you enter the Golf Shop. There you will find our Golf Course Manager, Joe Wrafter, and his staff with a warm and friendly greeting always ready to assist you. Joe has been a staple at Broadacres for the last 10 years and has been instrumental in creating this welcoming environment for everyone who enters the golf shop. It is one of the reasons why patrons enjoy coming to the course and return with great frequency.
Joe’s passion for Broadacres is matched by his commitment to customer service and a deep sense of involvement within the community. He has lived in the Pearl River section of Rockland County for the last 42 years where he and his wife Joan raised their 4 children and the place where his 8 grandchildren come to visit. Prior to Joe coming to Broadacres, he worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 35 years in the financial and administrative areas of the firm with oversight of many Fortune 500 Company Employee Benefit Programs. It was this experience as a manager and knowledge of customer service that made Joe easily transition to manage Broadacres.
Upon retiring from MetLife, Joe brought these skills and his passion for the game to Broadacres when the Town of Orangetown purchased the course in 2003. Since then, the quality of service has never been better. His involvement and work with community organizations and philanthropic efforts within the area have earned him the admiration of many of the residents and patrons of the golf course. It is this experience, community involvement, and knowledge of the game that has helped establish Joe Wrafter’s presence at Broadacres Golf Course. What is appliedgolf management?
appliedgolf management LLC is an all-purpose golf management company located in Millstone, New Jersey. The company was established in 2007 and is comprised of a team of industry professionals who service every area of the golf business. The company presently has 12 properties under management located throughout the East and Mid-Western part of the country.
Our Role at Broadacres Golf Course and with Orangetown
Now that appliedgolf has been contracted to operate and manage Broadacres Golf Course for the town of Orangetown, what exactly does it mean to all who use the facility. appliedgolf management is actually in partnership with the town. Under this arrangement, appliedgolf will manage the entire golf course operation including all pro shop and golf course maintenance-related programs. Those who work at the course will be employees of the company and may include current personnel.
appliedgolf management will also provide advice and recommendations to the town regarding the funding of capital improvements and repairs to the property. We look forward to sharing our vast industry experience and our network of resources to assist the town in making these decisions in a cost-effective manner and efficient use of their funds.
